Appeal Property Value

Property owners who feel their property’s value or classification doesn’t reflect their opinion have the right to appeal. Many questions can be answered with a quick call or visit to the Assessor of Property Office, where staff can explain how the value was determined and review the details with the owner.

If, after that conversation, the owner still wants to move forward with a formal appeal, the next step is the County Board of Equalization. The Board is an independent group that reviews appeals and listens to the property owner’s perspective before making a final decision on the assessment.
